Intensive Therapy
Traditional weekly therapy sessions are not the only option.
I offer EMDR and IFS intensives for those who would prefer to to work more intensively. This can involve multiple sessions across a day or over several days, either online or in person, giving you dedicated time and space for focused therapeutic work.
How are intensives different to weekly sessions?
Weekly sessions often involve some discussion about what has happened since the last session, as well as time spent moving in and out of the EMDR or IFS process. Intensive therapy, however, offers a concentrated period of time dedicated to the EMDR of IFS process. This means we can spend longer ‘in the work’, allowing us to go deeper and staying with this for a much longer period of time. For some people, this enables them to make meaningful progress much sooner than would be possible when sessions are spaced weekly.
When can EMDR and IFS intensives be helpful?
EMDR and IFS intensives can be a good fit if you have a busy schedule, are travelling, or simply want to dedicate focused time to create momentum towards healing. Intensives can also be added alongside your regular weekly sessions when you’d like some additional space for deeper work.
What is the format?
I tailor each intensive to you and your needs. We would meet before to consider your goals for the intensive and what therapeutic approach and format would be most suited to you.
A typical format for a one day intensive would include:
A 50 minute session to discuss goals ahead of the intensive
Three 90 minute sessions across one day
A 50 minute session the following week
The cost of this format would be £1050
Please get in touch if you would like to discuss whether intensive therapy could be right for you.
